Author Jerry Kaplan gained international recognition with his book “Startup: A Silicon Valley Adventure” and is now a well-traveled speaker and futurist as well as a serial entrepreneur, technical innovator, co-founder of four Silicon Valley startups, two of which became publicly traded companies. He is currently a Fellow at The Stanford Center for Legal Informatics. He also teaches Philosophy, Ethics, and Impact of Artificial Intelligence in the Computer Science Department, Stanford University. He holds a BA (1972) from the University of Chicago in History and Philosophy of Science, and an MSE (1975) and PhD (1979) in Computer and Information Science, specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Computational Linguistics, from the University of Pennsylvania. The editor of this impressive collection of works by immigrant poets is Abayomi Animashaun, a Nigerian émigré whose poems have appeared in such journals as 5A.M., African American Review, Southern Indiana Review, Diode, The Adirondack Review, The Drunken Boat, and The Cortland Review. He is the author of two poetry collections published by Black Lawrence Press, THE GIVING OF PEARS (2010), winner of the 2008 Hudson Prize, and SAILING FOR ITHACA (2014). He teaches at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Knowing well the works of many of these poets (e.g., Jee Leong Koh, Ocean Vuong, Lisa Birwan and others), this book is particularly fascinating. Continue reading →

Indian author Raj Nellooli (born in Kerala grew up in Trivandrum) completed his studies with a Masters degree, leading to working abroad in banking, as a management consultant and director of multinational banks, oil and gas corporations, and international NGOs throughout the globe. He is a writer not only of novels and short stories and business articles but also Indian musical compositions! He is a member of Mensa International and a visiting Professor for MBA programs.
